The rain started about 10 pm last night. At about 8:30 am this morning, I took the photo of the rain gauge - 4.5 inches! It is supposed to rain all day and into the evening. Will try to post more when the rain stops tonight. Good thing I live on a small hill! Flooding in low areas throught the much of Louisiana. Good thing I live in the hill country of Louisiana!

Do you have a sump pump?
ReplyDeleteConcrete slab foundation. The water table is ***way*** to high for a basement. Some of the older homes have small, tiny, and usually very damp, basements. Most older homes were built with a crawl space, but slab foundations became more prevalent 40-50 years ago. Probably anybody with a basement here is having water come in and their sump pump going at high speed.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you're on the hill! So are we, plus our topsoil is about two inches of clay on top of bedrock, so the water just rolls off.
